How do I get a library card if I live near Sewanee?

I'm glad you're interested in our Overdrive digital books! I wish that we did have an online method to sign up for a library card, but right now that is done in person at the library main desk.
Below are the details from our policy about getting a library card. If you still have questions, let us know!
Students, faculty, and staff of the University of the South use their ID cards as their library cards.
If you don’t have a University ID, in order to qualify for a library card, you must be:

Affiliated with St. Andrew’s-Sewanee (SAS) school

A permanent resident of Sewanee

A permanent resident of Franklin County
-
A permanent resident of one of the Tennessee counties bordering Franklin County

A visiting scholar
-
A family member of faculty or staff
Applying for a library card?

A photo ID must be shown, if eligible.

You must be at least 8 years old.

If you’re under 18, you must have a parent/guardian with you when applying, unless you’re a St. Andrew’s-Sewanee student.

$10.00 charge for a new card or a replacement card
