How do I check out books from the library as an on-campus student, faculty, or staff?
Answer
Students, faculty, and staff of the University of the South use their ID cards as their library cards. They can scan their ID cards at the self-served check out station located near the main floor entrances/exits, or they can go to the main circulation desk to check out.
If you don’t have a University ID, in order to qualify for a library card, you must be:
- Sewanee Alumni-(NO charge)
- Affiliated with St. Andrew’s-Sewanee (SAS) school-(SAS students & Faculty NO charge)
- A permanent resident of Sewanee
- A permanent resident of Franklin County
- A permanent resident of one of the Tennessee counties bordering Franklin County (also Jackson County, AL)
- A visiting scholar
- A family member of faculty or staff
